Selling property can be a complex process, but when you have the right guidance, it becomes much...
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Waste Disposal Watford provides waste collection and related services to domestic and commercial customers. By placing a booking, confirming an order, or allowing work to commence, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. You should read them carefully before making a booking or using our services.
In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:
Customer means any individual, business, organisation, or other entity that requests or receives services from Waste Disposal Watford.
Services means any waste collection, waste removal, clearance, recycling, or related services provided by Waste Disposal Watford.
Waste means any items, materials, rubbish, refuse, or other matter requested to be collected or removed as part of the Services.
Booking means a request for Services that has been accepted and confirmed by Waste Disposal Watford.
Agreement means the contract between Waste Disposal Watford and the Customer incorporating these Terms and Conditions and any written or verbal confirmation of the Booking.
Waste Disposal Watford provides waste collection and disposal services for household, commercial, construction, and garden waste, subject to applicable regulations and these Terms and Conditions. The specific nature and scope of the Services for each Booking will be confirmed at the time of order, including any volume or weight limits, access requirements, and restrictions on types of Waste that can be collected.
The Customer is responsible for ensuring that the description of the Waste and the volume or load size provided to us is accurate. If on arrival the Waste is significantly different in type, volume, or weight from that described at the time of Booking, we reserve the right to adjust the price, alter the Services, or refuse to carry out the work in whole or in part.
Customers may request a Booking by telephone, email, online form, or in any other manner that we make available. A Booking is confirmed only when we have accepted the request and provided confirmation of the date, approximate time window, and price estimate or quotation.
When making a Booking, the Customer must provide accurate information, including the collection address, contact details, description and approximate quantity of Waste, any access restrictions, and any other information reasonably required to enable us to provide the Services safely and efficiently.
Any time or date given for attendance is an estimate only and is not guaranteed. We will use reasonable efforts to attend within an agreed time window, but we will not be liable for any loss or inconvenience arising from delays, traffic conditions, weather, operational issues, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
We reserve the right to refuse a Booking, or to cancel a Booking after acceptance, where we reasonably believe that the work cannot be carried out safely, legally, or in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
The Customer must ensure that adequate access is available to the location where the Waste is to be collected, including any driveways, passageways, entrances, or loading areas. The Customer is responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions, permits, or authorisations from property owners, occupiers, neighbours, local authorities, or other relevant parties in advance of the Services.
Where parking or entry charges apply, the Customer is responsible for covering those costs unless otherwise agreed in advance. If our team is unable to gain safe and reasonable access to the Waste at the agreed time, we may charge a wasted journey fee or apply a cancellation charge as set out in these Terms and Conditions.
The Customer must ensure that any Waste to be collected is clearly identified and separated from items that are not to be removed. Our staff will use reasonable care to confirm which items are to be taken, but the Customer remains responsible for providing clear instructions and supervision if necessary.
Our Services are provided subject to applicable waste management and environmental regulations. Certain types of Waste cannot be collected or can only be collected subject to special arrangements and additional charges. These may include, but are not limited to, hazardous or dangerous materials, clinical or medical waste, asbestos, chemicals, solvents, oils, gas bottles, tyres, batteries, and electrical or electronic equipment requiring special treatment.
The Customer must declare in advance any items or materials that may be hazardous, contaminated, or subject to particular disposal rules. We reserve the right to refuse to collect any items that we reasonably believe are unsafe, illegal to transport, or not in keeping with the scope of the Services.
If prohibited or undisclosed hazardous materials are included in the Waste and are identified during or after collection, we may charge additional fees to cover the costs of safe handling, segregation, storage, and compliant disposal. We may also return such items to the Customer where permitted by law.
The price for the Services will ordinarily be quoted based on the estimated volume, weight, and type of Waste, together with access details. All prices are expressed exclusive of any applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to revise the price if the actual Waste or site conditions differ materially from the information provided at the time of Booking.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due immediately on completion of the Services. We may, at our discretion, require full or partial payment in advance to secure a Booking. We accept payment by cash, card, bank transfer, or other methods as advised at the time of Booking.
For commercial Customers and account holders, payment terms will be as agreed separately and set out on our invoice. If payment is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to charge interest on overdue sums at the statutory rate, as well as reasonable costs of debt recovery.
We may suspend further Services or cancel future Bookings where any balance remains outstanding beyond its due date.
The Customer may cancel or amend a Booking by contacting us as soon as possible. Where possible, we will try to accommodate changes to dates, times, and service details, but this cannot be guaranteed.
If a Booking is cancelled by the Customer with sufficient notice, typically at least one working day before the scheduled attendance, no cancellation charge will usually be applied. If cancellation occurs on the day of the scheduled visit, or if our team arrives at the agreed address but is unable to carry out the Services due to lack of access or other reasons beyond our control, we may apply a reasonable cancellation or wasted journey fee to cover our costs.
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a Booking in the event of severe weather, mechanical breakdowns, staff shortages, road closures, or other operational or safety reasons. In such cases we will use reasonable efforts to notify the Customer as soon as practicable and to agree an alternative time. We will not be liable for any indirect loss, such as loss of profits or loss of business, arising from such cancellations or delays.
Our team will use reasonable skill and care in carrying out the Services. Waste will be loaded and removed in a professional manner, taking reasonable steps to avoid damage to property where possible. The Customer must inform our team of any fragile surfaces, concealed cables, underground services, or other site features that may be at risk.
Our responsibility for any property or items begins only when they have been clearly identified for removal and our team has commenced handling or loading them. We will not be responsible for any items that the Customer fails to identify properly as Waste or that are accidentally left within the premises or on site.
Once collected, Waste becomes our responsibility and will be transported to an authorised facility for recycling, recovery, or disposal in line with applicable regulations. We aim to minimise the amount of Waste sent to landfill wherever reasonably practicable.
By using our Services, the Customer warrants and represents that:
They are the owner of the Waste or have full authority from the owner to arrange its removal.
The Waste does not include any items that are stolen, illegal to possess, or otherwise unlawful to dispose of.
The Waste does not contain hazardous or prohibited materials unless these have been expressly declared and agreed with us in advance.
The information provided in relation to the Waste, access, and site conditions is accurate and complete to the best of their knowledge.
The Customer agrees to indemnify Waste Disposal Watford against any loss, liability, cost, or claim arising from breach of these warranties or any misuse of the Services.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other matter for which it would be unlawful to limit or exclude liability under applicable law.
Subject to the above, our total liability for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the Services, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall be limited to the amount paid or payable by the Customer for the relevant Booking.
We will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss or damage, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of opportunity, arising from or in relation to the Services, any delays, or cancellations.
We shall not be responsible for any pre-existing damage to property, driveways, surfaces, or fixtures, nor for minor or cosmetic damage reasonably incidental to the performance of the Services where all reasonable care has been taken. Customers are advised to move or protect any vulnerable items or surfaces before our arrival.
Waste Disposal Watford operates in accordance with relevant waste management, environmental, and transport regulations. We will only transfer Waste to licensed or authorised facilities and carriers, and we maintain appropriate documentation to demonstrate legal and compliant disposal.
The Customer agrees to cooperate with any reasonable requests for information or documentation in relation to the Waste, including its origin, composition, and any previous handling. Where required, we may issue or request waste transfer notes or similar documentation to comply with applicable law.
If we reasonably suspect that the Waste or the circumstances of its collection may involve illegal activity, environmental offences, or breaches of waste regulations, we reserve the right to refuse the Service, to notify the relevant authorities, and to provide them with relevant information.
We collect and process personal data such as contact details, addresses, and payment information for the purpose of providing the Services, managing Bookings, and handling enquiries. We will handle such data in accordance with applicable data protection laws and only retain it for as long as necessary to fulfil these purposes or as required by law.
We may use Customer contact details to send service-related communications, confirmations, and invoices. We will not sell or share personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our Services, you should contact us as soon as possible with your Booking details and a clear description of the issue. We will investigate the matter and aim to respond within a reasonable timescale.
We may ask for further information, photographs, or access to the site to assess any complaint. Where appropriate, we may offer a remedy such as partial refund, re-attendance, or other reasonable resolution, without admitting liability.
We may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in law, industry practice, or our operational arrangements. The version in force at the time of the Booking will apply to that Booking. Continued use of our Services after any changes have been published or communicated will constitute acceptance of the updated terms.
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter.
If any provision or part-provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by a court or other competent authority to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision or part-provision shall, to the extent required, be deemed deleted, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms and Conditions, together with any written confirmation of Booking and any additional terms explicitly agreed in writing, constitute the entire agreement between Waste Disposal Watford and the Customer in relation to the Services and supersede any prior discussions, correspondence, or understandings.
By proceeding with a Booking or allowing the Service to commence, the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
